Welcome to our new site. We have several new features to help you find the photo/s you are looking for. Our Home page allows for searches by keyword and/or location. Under "Find Images", you can refine searches by optional filters such as photographer, model release or orientation. There are three levels to view an image. The thumbnail images enlarge to a watermarked file when hitting the info button  or by simply clicking on the thumbnail. If you are logged in, then you may also view unwatermarked images by clicking the view comp image button  or the watermarked image.Establishing an account will allow you access to unwatermarked layout images. As a working professional, you may sign up for an account, and within 24 hours recieve confirmation to access these comp files. Once logged in, the "Lightbox" feature allows you to save selected images for an unlimited period of time. Recently we have added a email a lightbox feature which allows you to send thumbnails of your selections to other parties for review. Thumbnails appear in their email which link to the larger file sizes on the site. Here are some search tips which may be helpful: The searches are set by default to search within the state of Hawaii. When looking for images for a specific area outside of Hawaii please use the location filter pulldown menu. By selecting "not location-specific" it will search all locations within the database. Also note that the island, "Hawaii" is called "The Big Island of Hawaii" in our location search. Also by hitting the search button with no keywords, all images in the collection appear. To see the latest photos added, click the New Work link on the home page. Although the Hawaiian language uses diacritical marks called the kahako and okina in its language, we do not use these on our website. The reason for this is due to the font itself as well as for consistency. I apologize for this, as the language is very beautiful and because the kahako and okina can actually change the meaning of a word when present. So please refrain from using the marks such as in the word "hokule'a" when doing searches. Also note searches may be limited when using multiple words. Each search result will include an option to refine the selection within the search. So if you search for "hula" you could then refine the search with "women" on the results page. The results page also offers refinement for model releases and vertical or horizontal orientation. Some images may not require a model release (as needed for advertising) due to unrecognizable persons, and will not be identified as released, so bear this in mind when you use this filter. If you would like to order an image as a High Resolution file, you can use the order photos form or click on the information button below the photo you are interested in. Photos can be delivered as 300dpi .tiff files via ftp or .jpg by email.
